The Team Behind Tragic to Magic

Amber Briscoe

Creator & Executive Producer

Amber Briscoe is a producer, writer, and filmmaker whose work explores grief, resilience, and the enduring bonds between families.

She began her career in television and documentary production, spending several years at Extra before moving into advertising and experiential production, producing large-scale campaigns, live events, and technology-driven installations for major brands.

After the loss of her son, Jagger, her work shifted toward deeply personal storytelling and research into grief, consciousness, and the experiences reported by bereaved families around the world.

Amber is the co-creator, writer, and lead producer of Tragic to Magic, a documentary project that began with three mothers navigating profound loss and evolved into a broader exploration of healing, connection, and transformation.

The project has since expanded into a growing storytelling and community platform, including Signs 101, a companion guide inspired by the signs, synchronicities, and shared experiences often reported by grieving families.

She has led the project from concept through development, overseeing research, interviews, story development, editing, outreach, and audience building.

Christine Scott

Executive Producer & Partnerships Strategy

Christine Scott is a strategist and producer whose work focuses on partnerships, audience development, and expanding the cultural reach of story-driven projects. With experience spanning Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Asia, she has led strategic initiatives for organizations including Visa, the Detroit Pistons, and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Her work sits at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and community engagement — helping projects connect with broader audiences through thoughtful positioning, partnerships, and impact-driven strategy. She is the founder of The Accomplice Project, an independent consultancy grounded in inclusive design and equity-informed strategy.

Christine’s connection to Tragic to Magic is both professional and personal. After losing her younger brother at 18, she developed a deep understanding of how grief reshapes families, identity, and the search for meaning. On the series, she plays a key role in expanding the project’s global perspective, partnerships, and audience reach.

Sarah Olson

Co-Creator

Sarah Olson is a nurse and mother whose life was forever changed after the loss of her son, Elijah, to an unsolved murder in 2020.

Grounded in a science-based worldview, Sarah initially approached her grief with skepticism and practicality. As she began experiencing moments she could not easily explain, her search for understanding led her into the study of grief, spirituality, and after-death communication.

Sarah’s openness, curiosity, and willingness to question her own experiences became foundational to the early development of Tragic to Magic. Her perspective helps anchor the project in the emotional complexity of grief, uncertainty, and continued connection after loss.

Today, Sarah continues to support other bereaved families while exploring the evolving relationship many parents describe with those they have lost.

Amy Boyer Cox

Grief & Healing Advisor

Amy Boyer Cox is a mother, Reiki practitioner, and certified grief educator whose work focuses on healing, emotional support, and community care.

After the loss of her son, McKellar, to suicide in 2017, Amy began exploring new approaches to grief support and trauma recovery. Her path led her deeper into practices centered on mindfulness, sound healing, peer connection, and holistic care.

Amy completed grief educator training under renowned grief expert David Kessler and continues to support bereaved families through grief communities, healing work, and peer support.

She brings a compassionate and grounded presence to Tragic to Magic, helping shape the project’s exploration of healing, resilience, and the many ways people attempt to rebuild after devastating loss.
